"Terrible customer service, awful experience"

I’m leaving this review to highlight a deeply unsatisfactory experience with Opticians Direct. I ordered non-prescription sunglasses for my son’s prom on the 1st of June, with the stated delivery being 3-5 business days. After nine days with no update, I called. Despite their excuse shifting to “7-14 days for special lenses,” these were not prescription, so that didn’t apply. I was hands-free in my car, speaking, not shouting, and yet I was treated rudely, accused of shouting, and the call was abruptly ended. When I raised my dissatisfaction with customer service, their response, in what felt like retaliation, was to cancel my order entirely and are making me wait a further two days for the money to be returned to me. After 10 days of holding my order without dispatch, they’ve left my son without sunglasses for his special event. This is appalling customer service, and I would strongly advise others to avoid them

"Glasses arrived fine, but updates could be better"
I ordered a pair of glasses and they turned up fine in the end, so no real complaints there. The only thing was the communication along the way wasn’t great. I had to chase a bit to find out what was happening, and replies took longer than I expected. Overall it was okay, and I’m happy enough with the glasses, but clearer updates would make the whole process feel a lot smoother.

"Pretty decent for the price"
It’s a decent value overall, and I don’t regret buying it, but I was expecting a little more. It does the job fine, just didn’t quite wow me like I thought it would. Not bad, jsut not amazing either.

"Prescription was spot on, just bad timing on my part"
Ordered from opticiansdirect.co.uk and the prescription seems bang on. I wasn’t totally sure about buying glasses online, but I could see clearly with them straight away. No headaches, no weird blurry feeling, so I’m happy overall. Only slight issue was the timing, but that was probably just bad luck with when I ordered more than anything

"Quick and easy enough"
I found my frames quickly, so that was nice. There were plenty of options to choose from, which I’m totally calm and normal about because I absolutely didn’t expect it to take forever...

I ordered my usual lenses and made sure to double-check the brand and prescription when they arrived, just to be safe. Everything was exactly right, with no mix-ups or missing boxes. Happy with the experience and I’d feel comfortable ordering from them again.

"Refund took longer than it should have"
I ordered a pair of glasses but ended up returning them because they just didn’t suit me. The refund did come through eventually, but it took longer than I expected and I had to chase them about it once. Customer service was polite enough, to be fair, so it wasn’t a terrible experience. I just think whoever runs this needs to tighten up the refund process a bit because it could definitely be quicker.

I found the glasses I wanted quickly, and checkout was simple. The filters worked fine on my phone too, which was nice. No unnecessary messing around, just a straightforward order.

Really happy with these frames. Like, genuinely. They feel sturdy in the hand, not cheap or bendy. The finish surprised me too, way nicer than I expected for the price. I’ve been wearing them pretty much every day and they still look new. No complaints. I’d order again.

"Really pleased with my varifocals"
I ordered varifocal lenses from opticiansdirect.co and wasn’t too sure at first, as I’ve always thought this kind of thing really needs to be fitted in person. But based on this pair, ordering online can work out just fine. The reading part is clear, distance vision is nice and sharp, and I didn’t get that odd swimmy feeling I had with my last glasses. It only took me about a day to get used to them. Overall, I’m really happy with how they turned out.

Not gonna lie, the glasses themselves were fine and I’m happy enough with them, but the aftercare took longer than I expected. I had to chase them for a reply about an adjustment, which was a bit frustrating. They did get it sorted in the end, just not as quickly as I’d hoped.

So... I needed an eye test and was surprised they had appointments available so soon. I managed to pick a time that actually fit around my day, which made things much easier. Booking was quick, no fuss at all, and when I turned up I was seen on time. Straightforward experience really, and I’d happily use opticiansdirect.co.uk again.
